About Us

Redding Sunrise Rotary was established in 1990.  Since there were three other Rotary clubs serving the Redding area at that time, we decided that our area of service would be just to the north of Redding in the City of Shasta Lake.  Furthermore we would not only serve that general area but would give special service to the youth of that area.  So when you view our list of service projects note that we have projects that are community and international in scope and that we have over half of them dedicated to the youth in our area of influence.

The only community service that is not noted on our list of service projects is our weekly book donation to the Gateway Unified School District Library.  Each speaker that presents a program weekly to our club is asked to autograph a book which we furnish and donate on the speaker's behalf.  This brings to their attention our commitment to the youth of that area.  The comments we receive from our speakers is very positive.

We are an active club and require involvement by all the members as our membership is small compared to some clubs.  Thankfully we still carry a lot of our charter members, who are long-time Rotarians and remain active in our club.
