Community

Park Benches.

We have placed special benches with the Rotary Logo and Sunrise Rotary name in the
parks in the City of Shasta Lake.

Lake Parade

We run the 'Damboree Parade" to kick off the city's Damboree Days Special Celebration
- it entails a few months work getting the entries and then the fun begins as we
line-up the parade participants and perform the smooth release for the parade.

Christmas Gifts Program We purchase gifts for underprivileged children in the City of Shasta Lake. This is a fun
way to involve high school youth in charitable giving.

Redding Swim Meet We provide lunches for Redding Swim Meet volunteers.

International

Rotoplast We collected from each member a quarterly amount and sponsored our own team to
repair cleft pallets in a third-world country in 2006.

Polo Plus Campaign We continually contribute towards the eradication of the Polio Disease around the world.

LN - 4 Reaching out and touching those in need of hands in third-world countries.

Youth

Bill Cosby - Sunrise Rotary Scholarship

We are currently building an endowment that will eventually fund our scholarship through
interest generated. Our 2004 Bill Cosby performances gave us the largest boost in
funding followed by special event partnerships with Win River contributed substancially to our fund.  We are currently set up to award two (four-year, $5,000 scholarships) per year and we have extended that to also be flexible enough to award two-year scholarships for vocational training, such as nursing.

Interact We sponsor an Interact Club at Central Valley High School and will sponsor another at Mt. Lakes High School in September 2008.

Student Recognition Quarterly student recognition for the outstanding accomplishments as awarded by
their teachers and principal. They are brought to a meeting with their parents and
praised and awarded a jacket and a gift certificate.

Special Olympics We furnish lunches for over 300 participants for their special games and last year
we furnished uniforms so they could also feel special.

School Dictionaries We provide dictionaries for third-graders in the Gateway School District.

Book Project We provide books for the Gateway Unified School District Libraries.

Christmas Shopping Students do the shopping for the gifts for Christmas Gift Giving Program.

School Supplies We donate school supplies annually in September for underprivileged at Central Valley and Mt. Lakes High Schools.

Club Venture We sponsor a number of students for the annual Camp Venture and Camp Royal Programs.
