Welcome

Welcome to Redding Sunrise Rotary (RI27985) and thank you for visiting our website!  Our club was founded in 1990 and is currently 45 members strong.  We meet weekly for breakfast at CR Gibbs American Grill Restaurant in Redding, Fridays at 7am.  Our club’s size coupled with its fun energetic nature make us very effective and efficient in delivering a myriad of projects and charitable giving that enhances the lives of many both here and abroad.

Locally we focus our philanthropic efforts in the City of Shasta Lake and the greater Redding area.  Some examples include supporting:  The Women’s Refuge, American Cancer Society Relay for Life, park benches for the City of Shasta Lake, Special Olympic contributions and Harlem Ambassador fundraiser, Shasta Regional Soccer Park, Shasta Lake City welcome monument, Literacy project for the Shasta Co. Library and the City of Shasta Lake, Shasta Damboree Christmas books and parade, toys for underserved children in the City of Shasta Lake, Christmas toys for children in local hospitals, supporting the Redding Riverfront Playhouse Theatre.

Our youth education services support:  Annual Student scholarships for the Gateway School District, Gateway student recognition awards for academic achievement and leadership, send two Gateway students to Camp Venture (business training) and Camp Royal (leadership training), supply school materials to underserved children in the Gateway School District, donate 300+ dictionaries to all third graders in the Gateway School District, support CVHS athletic department, CVHS Future Business leaders of America, Sober Graduation Night at CVHS and Mountain Lakes HS, and CVHS Rotary Interact Club.  The Interact club is a student form of Rotary within a high school run by students.  Our interact partners sponsored a drug and wellness assembly and program (Rachel’s Challenge), school concert fundraisers, and provided money to support humanitarian efforts throughout our community.

Redding Sunrise Rotary also has a strong international commitment where we support the Polio Plus campaign to eradicated Polio, funded and participated in a club sponsored Rotoplast mission to Venezuela to surgically repair cleft lips and palates, and give annual funding to purchase prosthetic  arms for victims of violence in Africa.  Contributions from our members also enable the Rotary Foundation to fulfill the promise of a polio-free world, to nurture world understanding and peace through Ambassadorial Scholarships, Rotary World Peace Fellowships, and Group Study Exchanges, and to fund a variety of humanitarian projects that improve health, alleviate poverty, and provide access to safe drinking water.

Redding Sunrise Rotary is an organization of business and professional leaders that provides humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and helps build peace and understanding in the world.   Locally we are a fellowship of men and women who enjoy a good time yet promote “service above self” for the betterment of mankind.  If you’re interested in finding out more about Redding Sunrise Rotary, please contact me for further information.
